Once again Otto Rehhagel called to offer his help to Greece. This time he required to bring closer Greeks and Germans. To contribute to the restoration of Greek-German relations, encourage the Greek people and strengthen Greek tourism.
The proposal to Otto Rehhagel was made by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Rehhagel accepted immediately and at the end of March he will visit Greece.
During his three-day stay in the country will meet with the President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias and Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.
Speaking to the Bild newspaper, Otto Rehhagel said: 'The issue raised by Chancellor Merkel. But the president of the German Football Federation Wolfgang Nirsmpach also asked me to help. And I'll do it gladly, because I know the positive image that my name has in Greece. Let us not forget that we won the 2004 European football championship. Nobody believed that then, but we have succeeded. That is why I want to encourage my friends in Greece'.
